One of the most profound ways that Murri and Koori Communities connect and share Stories is during the time and place of weaving.

Nhingali ngiyaningu garay (Weaving our Story) is a collection of hand-woven narratives drawn from cultural and personal experiences that privilege their ways of knowing and being, as passed down by their ancestors. It is these narratives that guide Yinarr Maramali’s sustainable weaving practises and their responsibility to Country when collecting weaving material. Given the present environmental and political climate, cultural responsibility is just as important now as it has ever been.

Weaving is much more than a stitch, it holds Big Stories.
