Eclectica:

A collection of works by Sybil Orr

This appropriately titled exhibition Eclectica showcases the creative practice of Sybil Orr.

Orr’s work reflects an interest in the environment, conservation and mending. Fabrics which are old and fragile, found or recycled are repurposed in conjunction with other materials.  Orr employs a combination of eco dying, staining, creative surface stitchery and simple running stitch to create works that reflect, her ongoing interest in ecological issues, cultural and historical references.

Extending on and emerging from these concepts and processes, Orr has developed a visual language that is unique and innovative.
