Selected works from the Tamworth Fibre Textile Collection

The Tamworth Fibre Textile Collection evolved from the first fibre exhibitions in the 1970’s to become a nationally significant collection comprising excellent examples of work that document the changes to fibre textile practice over the past 45 years.  The collection includes works from some of Australia’s most innovative and acclaimed textile and fibre artists.

From its beginnings as an extension of the local arts and crafts show, the Tamworth exhibitions pioneered the way for showcasing Australia’s pre-eminent textile artists. An exhibition of this scope was without precedent in Australia, and today there are few exhibitions that meet fibre-textile criteria.
