Guided by experienced artist facilitator Jessica Ashton, students will explore key artistic techniques including observation drawing, colour mixing, layering paint, and creating light and shadow to bring depth and atmosphere to their artwork.

Suitable for all ages and skill levels, this hands-on workshop introduces the basics of hand sewing through a series of simple and accessible techniques. Participants will explore colour, pattern, texture and decorative embellishment while creating a pouch that reflects their own personality and creative ideas. From colourful fabrics and decorative stitching to buttons, beads and other embellishments, there are endless opportunities to customise each design.

Along the way, students will learn foundational textile-making skills, develop confidence working with fabric and thread, and discover how handmade objects can carry stories, memories and personal significance.
