International Women's Day
Morning Tea and Guided Textile Collection Tour
Friday, 6 March 2026, 10:30am
Join us to celebrate the important women in your life, and the outstanding female artists within our community. The event will also highlight Sora Community Services - a local service that support local women and families.
The event will include a guided tour through the Tamworth Regional Gallery's permanent collection and Nationally Significant Textile Collection. This is a chance to better understand how our collection documents the change in the significance textile practice over the past 50 years, and the tour will emphasise the transition from textiles beings viewed as 'women's work', to their recognition as a valued art form.
The behind-the-scenes tour will highlight the gender equity presented by the Gallery's permanent collection - correcting the historical disparity in research, representation and recognition of women in the arts.
Come along to enjoy a free morning tea, including freshly baked treats and light refreshments. Enjoy a relaxed morning of delicious food and artful insights.
