Creative Play Tuesdays is here for Term 4

Term 4-Tuesdays 

Tuesday 20th of October - Tuesday 8th of December 2026  

10:30am - 11am

Tamworth Regional Gallery welcomes the youngest members of the community into the Esther Halliday Studio and the Gallery for a series of creative and sensory classes on Tuesday mornings starting from Tuesday the 20th of October - 8th of December 2026 

Simply visit the Esther Halliday Studio to enjoy creative time with our wonderful art educators on a weekly basis or secure your place for the term. This program encourages children to explore art-making activities together with their carer. Our program changes each week. Activities include drawing, dyeing, textiles, paper craft and more.

Cost: $5 per class or $35 for the term. 

Age: Inclusive of ages 0 - 6 years.

Time: 10:30am - 11am. 

Dates: Tuesdays, The 20th of October - The 8th of December 2026  

Accessibility: Tamworth Regional Gallery is fully accessible and offers free parking at the rear of the building.

Term 4 Lesson Plan

Introduction to Eco-Dyeing
Week 1-2  (20 + 27 October

Children will explore natural colours found in plants and flowers.
Bring along cotton t-shirt if you wish to create your own eco-dyed clothing.
Collect local eucalypus, she oak, or marigold flowers + leaves to dye with.

Shaving Foam Dyeing
Week 3-4  (3 + 10 November)

Children will explore colour mixing through sensory play.
Children will create cards from hand dyed paper.

Creative Cardboard Animals 
Week 4 -6  (17 + 24 November)

Children design and build simple animals from recycled materials.
The following week will involve painting an decorating the animals. 

Introduction to Origami
Week 7-8  (1 + 8 December) 

Children learn simple paper-folding techniques.
These items can make great decorations or gifts for the festive season
