Students will create a festive Easter wreath from a variety of recycled and craft materials including cardboard, fabric, gems, and collected objects – there will be plenty of materials supplied however students are welcome to bring items from home if they wish. Eloise can show students how to create flowers and other forms from egg cartons as pictured. Choose your own theme or colour-way and Eloise will help create your own one-of-a-kind wreath to get excited for Easter!

Create your own Easter bilby. Upcycling and repurposing items to create an Easter bilby and other fanciful creatures. This could be paper mache, paper construction, sculpture and other materials. Lots of create fun for all ages.
This workshop is led by Jodie Herden, a leading Gamilaroi artist.

Join Gamilaroi Artist and Knowledge Holder Frank Wright for a workshop of creative drawing and painting focused on local animals.
Frank has extensive experience in creative industries around Walgett. He brings this experience to Tamworth for students to enjoy. This workshop will focus on painting local animals using traditional marks and techniques.

Join Fibre Artist Sophie Honess and make your very own gumnut blossom key chain.
Using wool, and fabric students will learn the process of pom pom making, and make their own fabric gum leaves, to create a flowering gumnut as a key chain, or a work of art to hang in the home

Concertina Books

Discover the versatile world of printmaking with local artist and art educator Emily Redman as you construct and decorate your own concertina book in response to the exhibition, Overhead and Underneath.
Participants will spend time within the Gallery Space, guided through the exhibition by Emily before spending time selecting and experimenting with the thematical and artistic elements of individual artworks – drawing on them for inspiration. Participants will then enter the studio space to explore the basics of relief printing and repetition using various professional printmaking tools, inks and equipment.
Creating their own artist book, a practice employed by many professional artists, participants will experience the satisfaction of completing a body of work, whilst also developing the skills to continue the creative process of concertina.
Thursday 24 April - Emma Stilts
Stop Motion Animation

Join Emma Stilts for a fun and engaging introduction to stop motion animation, where kids can learn the fundamentals of storytelling and animation. Emma will show the process of stop motion animation. The first half of the workshop will involve creating a set and suite of characters. Students will work in teams or individually to develop their own characters and stories, and learn the fundamentals of stop motion animation.
This workshop uses the free software ‘ Stop Motion’ available on android and apple devices. If you have a smartphone or tablet please bring it along with app installed. It will need space for 400+ images.
