About Yinaar Maramali and the woven artworks

The artwork shown are some of the weavings completed by Year 5, Hillvue Public School. Amy has been weaving with students, using raffia to create bird bags, as they learnt the Gamilaroi stories for different birds.

This is part of the Walaaybaa (HOME) Program, a collaboration with the Art Gallery of NSW, NSW Education Dept. Arts Unit, local Gamilaroi Community and regional public schools and the gallery.

The 2024 exhibition shows works from 8 local schools.
The exhibition is on display in Gallery 2 until 1 December 2024.
