Overhead and Underneath – Lessons in Observation

12 April - 15 June, Gallery 1

Taking the time to look overhead or underneath your feet can be a centring experience that makes one appreciate that exact moment in time. With this exhibition theme, Tamworth Regional Gallery engaged 23 regionally based artists from Kamilaroi Gamilaroi Gomeroi country in the Tamworth region and Wiradjuri country near Albury, a collection of artists representing the north and south of the state.

Using the artist response to naturalistic observation has generated an exhibition, with series of public programs that provide the opportunity for skill exchange and meaningful observation. The exhibition invites the viewer to slow down, take time and look, observe and marvel at the world we exist in.
The associated programming  includes opportunities for creative exchange with leading regional artists, workshop, artist talks, mediation including sound healing and yoga sessions; allowing for wider audiences to participate.

This exhibition has been developed by the Tamworth Regional Gallery and was made possible by the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia
