Pioneer Parade Unveiling

Saturday, 18 January 2025, 11am

Pioneers Parade, Bicentennial Park

The recently upgraded tourist attraction in Bicentennial Park, Tamworth, features the bronze busts of Australian Country Music's pioneering greats. Including the busts of Buddy Williams, the first bronze bust to be donated to the city to commemorate the bush balladeer, others include Tex Morton, Barry Thornton, Shirley Thoms, Reg Lindsay, Gordon Parsons, Jimmy Little, Stan Coster, Chad Morgan, Frank Ilfield, Brian Young and Rick & Thel Carey.

With a commitment to preserving the history of Australian Country Music whilst celebrating the future of the 'Country Music Capital', join us during the Tamworth Country Music Festival on Saturday, the 18th of January, as we dedicate a morning to Australia's finest country musicians.

The official Public Art Launch and unveiling of the upgraded tourist attraction, will include speeches by country music legends Lindsay Butler OAM and Shaza Leigh OWB, before a one-hour 'Music of the Pioneers' presentation by some of today's best traditional performers, as they pay homage to those who came before them.

"To build our future we must understand and appreciate our past"

A heartfelt event with special surprises, join us as we honour the preservation of the past and the pioneers of this fantastic genre.
